LAST YEARS HAUL

This year we doubled what we brought to the Pennsylvania Agricultural recycler (and it over-filled the pick up truck.)

It’s year three and we’ll probably need a box truck, but we also need help organizing and a regular spot to sort & store.

Recycling @gowanus nursery

Thank you for your effort to sort through this, we wish that the future will bring more industry standards that prevent the proliferation of specialized pots and trays that are often 'single use'. We commit a lot of time organizing refuse and try to bring every piece of plastic back into re-use. It taxes our system when we have to deal with large amounts of pots that come from other places/vendors/growers so please be mindful when returning items.

WHAT WE RETURN TO GROWERS FOR RE-USE:

Glover perennials

Landcraft aka 'Hot plants'

Emmas Garden

We will take back the other items but please limit your returns to things bought here.

WHAT WE RE-USE

- 2.25” square pots (fondly referred to as 'smalls')

- rectangular trays with 15 divisions
- open 6 round trays

- traditional ribbed nursery pots

- black square quart pots

- mesh soil bags – whatever size/color

- Fresh direct or other re-usable tote

Luckily a colleague with some extra space to store our plastic (for now), but we’re always looking for space to sort and store as we steadily increase our capacity to capture other landscape companies plastic returns.
